Recovery Practitioners

ADS are looking to appoint Recovery Practitioners in the following areas:
Two part-time (28 hours) Recovery Practitioners for North Staffordshire
One full-time (35 hours) Recovery Practitioner for West Staffordshire
One part-time (14 hours) Recovery Practitioner for East Staffordshire

As part of One Recovery Staffordshire, to provide effective high quality assessments (including risk focused assessments) and evidence based intake services to people affected by substance misuse and/or secondary substance misuse. The post-holder will work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver recovery focussed, community based substance misuse treatment at the earliest opportunity (including pre-sentence and pre-release from custody). The post-holder will work alongside partner agencies in Staffordshire to provide interventions to support and motivate service users which meet their needs through their individual recovery journey. You will share ADS’ vision, that each service user has the potential for recovery from substance misuse. You will work within a framework that promotes a change and outcome focussed approach.

The role would include:

  • To work as an integral member of the service in the identification, engagement and management of service users dependent on drugs and/or alcohol.
  • To utilise a range of evidence based interventions, delivered through individual and group work in a range of settings, empowering service users to achieve and sustain positive outcomes.
  • To provide and/or facilitate access to services which are responsive to the needs of the families and friends of alcohol misusers.
  • To provide feedback on progress to the Recovery Co-ordinator at regular care plan reviews.
  • To respond to changes in risk and need by giving feedback to the Recovery Co-ordinator outside of the normal review process.
  • To work closely with Peer Mentors, Volunteers and Recovery Coaches to ensure service users get the best possible outcomes from working with the wide variety of support available.
  • To promote the involvement of service users and families in the design, development and delivery of services.
  • To provide advice, support and consultancy to partner agencies working with people affected by alcohol/drug misuse, facilitating joint working with service users where appropriate.
  • To maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date service user records, ensuring all necessary information is entered onto the case management systems.
  • To comply with safeguarding children and vulnerable adults protocols and legislative requirements, contributing to case conferences, reviews and investigations as required.

Intensive Family Support Service Staffordshire (IFSS) 

Exciting opportunities have arisen to be part of an expanding service created to support families with complex needs including parental substance misuse and child safeguarding.  The team will empower and support families to create and sustain environments that reduce risk and enable families to meet their potential in the context of their family dynamic, parenting capacity, children development, stress and environmental factors.

 

(IFSS) Enhanced Family Intervention Worker

Working within the IFSS team as a direct link for continued therapeutic support for families or parent/s where it is assessed that they are stable and would benefit from ongoing therapy.  The post-holder will assess the need for therapeutic intervention following the period of engagement with an intensive family model, design the type and level of therapy required and  engage the family, parent/s in this therapy.

Purpose of job:

Promote a culture of safe and effective practice and an understanding of the problems faced by families where there are safeguarding concerns as a result of domestic abuse, mental health and parental substance use.

Lead and maintain a capable and motivated team of Practitioners to deliver high quality family support activities and practices, which result in positive outcomes for families and improved safeguarding of children.

Engage in the development of the provision, challenging partners-in-practice, and other stakeholders, in order to advance the reputation of the service as a quality provider and advocate for vulnerable children and families.

Hours:  35 Hours per week

Salary: £28,382 per annum

Hours:  35 Hours per week

Salary: £23,294 per annum
