Preston Detoxification Unit
Information about this service
ADS detox unit is a new purpose built facility for men and women who are alcohol dependent and require residential, in patient care and support. We provide a range of detoxification options in a clinically safe, non – hospitalised caring environment.
The unit is staffed 24 hours a day by a professionally diverse team which includes medical staff, registered nurses and support worker, all staff are fully qualified and experienced to perform their roles.
This brand new ten bedroom facility will provide :
• 7-10 night medically managed alcohol detox
• In addition, where appropriate, 3 night kick-start medical and psychological detox (continued in the community programme
Services
• A safe clinical setting for the assessment and treatment of detoxification needs
• Medically managed withdrawal from alcohol
• Structured therapeutic groups to assist the development of relapse
prevention management
• A keywork system to enable clients to engage with a named staff member, responsible for an individual’s care whist in treatment
• An individual support plan formulated between client and care manager focusing on treatment and maintaining needs post-discharge
• Evidence based, best practice treatment programme
• Additional services include: relaxation/auricular acupuncture and advice/guidance regarding access to residential rehabilitation services and structures.
Opening times
The unit is staffed 24 hours ; Office opening hours are 09.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
