I returned to ADS in March 07 after a problematic and lengthy relapse and found a new and improved service. That is not to say that previous help offered hasn’t been of lesser quality. During the last 5 months of my recovery I have been guided by various staff, volunteer and clients alike. My keyworker, Carol has provided excellent support throughout and has always helped and directed me on the kind of support I’ve needed. Nikki has offered me support by way of The Smart Recovery Program which I have found extremely educational and beneficial. My guidance back into employment by Mark has been supported greatly by the programs offered to me, i.e. maths, English and various groundwork projects which have led to training and a job opportunity in the field I would like to advance at. The volunteers at the drop-in centre and outdoor activities groups have supported me immensely and always encouraged me, Steven especially as he introduced me to the rock-climbing and cycling activities provided by Energize who also helped me gain my walk leader qualification. On the non alcohol side of ADS the admin staff have helped me with computer related problems, printouts for the social fund and dentistry problems just to mention a very small few!

Overall, while every service can be improved, I feel ADS has provided me with all the help and support I have needed throughout my recovery (all recoveries).
