Claire Wixon, a Drug Worker in our service in ADS Staffordshire sums up the passion and commitment of staff at ADS. Working with people who have problems around alcohol and drugs is not easy. It takes patience and understanding and will at times test you to the limit but the rewards are second to none.
At ADS our starting point is the client, and we are distinctive in seeing each one as an individual, tailoring each treatment programme to their particular needs. We employ a variety of methods: abstinence, maintenance, and in the case of alcohol - controlled drinking - programmes. But the core of our belief remains the same: we are positive about change, and we believe that all our clients have it in them to overcome their problems and become productive members of society.
Volunteering lies at the very heart of ADS and all our volunteers play a key role in the work we do. With the help of hundreds of volunteers each day we are able to reach out and help more people than every before. We have a rich and diverse pool of volunteers in the heart of all the communities in which we work. There are a variety of volunteering opportunities and roles which you can look at below. If volunteering with us sounds like something you could do then please do get in touch we would love to hear from you. We offer a superb training package and will cover your expenses.
