Our service is free to anyone 18 and over who lives in the Rochdale area and has problems with alcohol or drug misuse, or is worried about a family member or friend.
Monday to Thursday: 9.00am to 7.30pm
Friday: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday & Sunday: 1.00pm to 4.00pm
First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop a plan to tackle your concerns and work out goals for your treatment. This plan might include individual counselling sessions or joining a selection of groups within our project. A range of interventions for those motivated to achieving abstinence from drugs.
We are open daily and four evenings to provide advice, information and support. The first step is one to one counselling, after which we can offer community care assessments, Detox, working within groups, plus social and leisure activities. Where required we arrange In-patient and residential care.
Our staff work from our project in Heywood and Middleton G.P surgeries, offering shared care in assessing, screening and supporting patients with alcohol problems. We provide help to those in the early stages of dependence, referral to our Home Detox Nurse or inpatient detox if needed
We provide a home detox service. This is provided by our detox nurse who will liaise with a client's G.P for the medication needed and will then visit on a daily basis to monitor the detox regime.
Getting into trouble with the Law is often triggered or exacerbated by drug or alcohol problems. Our non-judgemental teams give intensive support in custody suites, courts, probations offices, and prisons and in the community. We provide assessments for pre-sentence reports and supervision planning.
Sessions take place in a supportive and comfortable environment in which you can feel secure. People with alcohol or drug problems, and others who are concerned, can join a wide range of groups - Therapeutic, Educational and Social - that appropriate to their individual needs. Our current programme includes:
CRASH is a specialist service for people experiencing problems with stimulant misuse. Individuals can call in during the CRASH session times and be seen immediately, no referral is necessary. There are a variety of services on offer, including 1:1 support, information, advice and guidance, complemetary therapies such as EST or acupuncture, group-work and social activities. Referral for additional treatment and other services such as housing is available.
There is a volunteer, befriending and mentoring scheme to provide 20 volunteers within the borough of Rochdale to underpin the work of the Drug Intervention Programme. It forms part of the aftercare of drug users recently released from prison. Click for more
