What happens when we meet?

First we find out what you want and need. Then, together, we develop a plan to tackle your concerns and work out goals for your treatment. This plan might include individual key working sessions or joining a selection of workshops within our project, or referral to a more appropriate service.

Services offered at Wood Street

Alcohol Service

All clients will receive a triage assessment of needs, after which referrals will be made to the service that best fits your situation.  We provide advice, information, support and treatment that may include some one to one sessions and/or access to the aftercare workshop programmes at ADS, Wood Street.  Those with more complex treatment needs will be referred to the Community Alcohol Team at Giles House.

Community Support Service (Drug Misuse)

Clients receive a comprehensive assessment of needs, which will determine your treatment needs.  You will then be connected up to the service which best fits your needs, this could include a series of one to one sessions and access to the drug day care workshop programmes at ADS, Wood Street.  Those with more complex needs will be referred to the Community Drug Team for medical or alternative prescribing treatments.

Family and Concerned Others Service

We provide a series of one to one therapeutic sessions and access to the relevant work shops to family members

The Law and You

Getting into trouble with the law is often triggered or exacerbated by drug or alcohol problems. Our non-judgemental teams give intensive support in probation offices, prisons and in the community.

We provide support for clients within the Criminal Justice System, helping them to address substance misuse issues, and to engage in our Community drug or alcohol support services, as outlined above.

Structured Integrated Day Care Programme

In our work shop programmes we offer an exciting range of Therapeutic and Complimentary therapies, educational training and social activities for clients engaged with any of the above services.  The work shops are easily accessible and include a complete treatment programme and support package for individuals and concerned others with substance misuse problems.

Floating House Support

ADS provides floating support for clients in treatment for substance misuse to ensure they maintain their accommodation during their treatment journey.  Housing Support Workers will visit clients in their own home and complete a housing needs assessment and prepare a support/action plan.  Support may include providing benefit advice, debt management advice, dealing with creditors and or any other relevant housing issues.
